Honey is the ideal ingredient in homemade masks, and different combinations can be used according to the needs of the skin.

Get ready to show off your skin with the nectar of the goddesses!

Honey is one of the most complete and nutritious foods that nature offers us, but in addition, its properties make it a perfect ally in any treatment that seeks to improve the appearance of the skin.

Used since ancient times as an almost miraculous cosmetic, whatever your skin type, its benefits are at your fingertips.

For its emollient, nourishing, antiseptic, and moisturizing properties, honey was well known and valued by Cleopatra, who applied a thin layer to the skin every day to make it appear smooth and soft.

Sometimes she also mixed it, as a mask, with coconut milk and almond oil.

Considered authentic "nectar of gods" for centuries, honey is a wonderful product of nature not only beneficial for health but with multiple properties that make it ideal for treating skin problems such as dryness and flaking, excess oil, acne, or the lack of luminosity.

Its pleasant texture, smell, and golden color (let's forget its taste to avoid "temptations") make it a magnificent ingredient included in many cosmetic products that are also perfect for making homemade masks with excellent results.

The main characteristics that turn this delicacy into an elixir of youth are:

It has healing and moisturizing properties.

It is very rich in vitamins and minerals.

It has high antioxidant power (stops the action of free radicals).

Its composition includes amino acids and enzymes that provide vitality to cell tissue.

1) A mask for every need:

In combination with other foods such as eggs, yogurt, and different fruits and cereals, honey becomes the perfect base to make masks capable of greatly improving the appearance of the skin.

Moisturize, deeply nourish, cleanse and exfoliate are some of the actions that can be achieved without spending a lot of money and using products within our reach.

Before applying any mask it is important to remember the need to perform a minimal test to confirm that we are not allergic to any of the ingredients (spreading a little of it on a small part of the body or face).

When applying it, you can use your fingers or a cotton pad or make-up remover pad (in the case of masks with high liquid content).

The face must be perfectly clean and it is advisable to do a steam bath, for a few minutes, prior to application to facilitate the penetration of all the active ingredients.

The mask is extended by making circular movements starting from the forehead and nose, descending to the cheekbones, cheeks, and chin, and lastly (and very importantly) ending at the neck.

To remove it, the most convenient thing is to do it gently and with warm water.

As a general rule, honey-based masks are recommended every 10-15 days.

Take note!

If you have normal skin and you simply want to provide it with hydration and "extra" nutrition to provide softness and luminosity, you can mix the following ingredients:

1 egg yolk +1 tablespoon of honey

Mix both ingredients well and apply the resulting mass all over the face and neck (except the eye area).

Another possibility is to add 2 tablespoons of natural yogurt to this base, which will provide greater smoothness to the skin.

Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes (take the opportunity to enjoy a few moments of relaxation, resting, or listening to soft music) and remove it with warm water.

If you have a tendency to oily skin, the most suitable masks are those that deep clean and help prevent clogged pores and the appearance of the dreaded acne.

The suitable ingredients to prepare them are:

2 tablespoons of honey + the juice of a lemon

As in the previous case, you must melt the ingredients well until they form a compact mass and apply it on the face for 5-10 minutes.

In this case, you can also add a tablespoon of yogurt.

2) Mixed skin types:

will appreciate this cleansing mask with which they will regain all their radiance. The ingredients you need are:

2 tablespoons of orange juice + 2 tablespoons of orange honey

Mix the ingredients and spread them on the skin. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes and remove with cotton pads soaked in water with a few drops of lemon juice.

3) If you are looking for a cleansing mask:

that also has exfoliating properties to eliminate dead cells and provide greater luminosity (recommended at least once a month) you can combine:

1 tablespoon of honey +1 tablespoon of powdered milk + 1 egg white

Mixing a few tablespoons of honey with the pulp of some fruit such as orange, lemon, or even strawberries, or with certain cereals such as oat flakes, you will also get an excellent exfoliating mask.

In these cases, the application only lasts a few minutes while it is spread with gentle circular movements.

It is removed with warm water immediately afterward.

4) Do you want a perfect face? You will only need honey and yogurt.

It is a very easy-to-make and very sweet homemade mask, recommended by dermatologists, with which your face will recover all its natural beauty.

3-4 tablespoons of natural yogurt + honey

Add a little honey to three or four tablespoons of plain white yogurt and stir until you get a homogeneous mixture.

Apply to the face and leave for ten minutes, until you notice that the mask stays dry.

Rinse thoroughly with water and you will notice the difference.

Your skin will be clean, stretched, disinfected, nourished, and exfoliated.

5) In dry skins that demand extra nutrition and hydration, you need to mix:

1 teaspoon of honey + 1 teaspoon of olive oil + 1 egg yolk + 1 teaspoon of flour

Obtained a homogeneous mixture, apply on face, neck, and décolleté.

Relax and allow it to act on the skin for 15-20 minutes.

Afterward, remove with plenty of lukewarm water and gently pat dry with a clean towel.

Dry skin will have regained its radiance and hydration.

Finally, for very dry skin with the presence of small wrinkles, an "infallible" mix consists of combining:

1 egg yolk + 1 tablespoon of honey +1 tablespoon of almond oil

Let it act for about 20 minutes and you will see the results.

6) If what you need is to deeply hydrate the skin, combine:

1 tablespoon of honey + 2 tablespoons of milk + 3 tablespoons of wheat flour

Apply an even layer to the face and neck, let it sit for 20 minutes, and wash off with warm water.

7) Looking for a lifting effect? You will get it with:

2 tablespoons of honey + 1 egg white + 1 tablespoon of lemon juice + 1 tablespoon of cocoa

Mix well and apply to clean face, massaging gently.

Let it act for about 20 minutes and remove with a cotton ball moistened in skim milk.

The effect is immediate, you will notice how the skin stretches.
